I spent 3 years doing R&D for a new drug delivery method and delivery device as a member of the Prausnitz Drug Delivery Lab at Georgia Tech. This page outlines the kind of work I did, but I cannot provide details until the patent(s) are approved and papers published.

Methanol Synthesis Plant Design ( project_status= COMPLETE ):

Methanol is an attractive fuel alternative due to its energy density and the option for carbon neutral manufacturing.

This project was first an optimization of a plant designed by Shi et al. to account for realistic feed and reactor conditions, second a heat integration for energy savings, and third an economic analysis to determine profitability.

Fryer Steam Capture and Cleaning Process Unit Design ( project_status= COMPLETE ):

More water is evolved as steam from industrial potato chip fryers than is required for the rest of the manufacturing process.

The goal of this project was to develop a method for capturing and cleaning this steam, and analyze the economic and environmental impact of adding this process to food manufacturing facilities.
